- Facility: ME3 Pulmonary Unit – Inpatient Cardiac Stepdown
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Start Date: September 15, 2025
- End Date: February 2, 2026
- Duration: 20 weeks (13-week contracts considered)
- Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30); 36 or 48 hours/week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,950 - $2,000
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Census: 36 patients, 38 beds
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Active RN license (any state; compact nursing license accepted)
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (ICU experience not accepted)
- Experience with 1:5 patient ratios in Stepdown/PCU settings
- Ventilator management experience required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to start
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Available to work every other weekend and holiday
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must be fitted for N95 mask prior to working on HRRU unit (unless PAPR is needed/offered)
- No past license action accepted
- Local candidates (within 50 miles) not accepted
- Deliver high-acuity care for patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions, including COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-COVID complications
- Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, insulin drips, heparin drips, and cardiac drips (no titration)
- Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
- Participate in a team nursing model, collaborating with RNs and PCTs to optimize patient care
- Float to other units or campuses within the Premier Health system as needed
- Adhere to isolation precautions, wound care protocols, and infection control standards
- Utilize advanced clinical equipment such as Golvo lifts, hover mats, nurse iPhones, and Hercules beds
- Complete required orientation modules and competency assessments
