Physical Education (PE) Teacher K-5th

26-27 School Year

Summary:
We are seeking a full-time physical education (PE) teacher for kindergarten through fifth grade students at Coloma Elementary & Intermediate Schools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting health and wellness through physical activity and will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive PE program.



Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a PE curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the needs of students in kindergarten through fifth grade
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to integrate physical activity into the school day
• Participate in school-wide events and activities, such as field days and assemblies
• Maintain a safe and clean PE environment, including equipment and facilities

• Participate in New Teacher Academy at CCS, One meeting per month after school 4pm-6pm, first 2 years of employment at CCS as a teacher

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university
• Applicant must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed for this position with a Valid Michigan

Teaching Certificate (prefer valid PE teaching endorsement at appropriate grade levels K-5 (MB, ZC or ZG))

• Preferred experience teaching PE to elementary school students
• Knowledge of age-appropriate physical education activities and curriculum development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians
• Commitment to promoting health and wellness through physical activity
