About this role:

Looking for a meaningful, short‑term opportunity to help fight hunger in Western Michigan? This is a temporary, part‑time position ideal for someone seeking consistent daytime hours for a limited period , with no nights or weekends. As a Food Service Associate at Meals on Wheels Western Michigan, you will play an essential role in preparing and packaging nutritious meals that meet the needs of our clients. Though short‑term, this role is vital to supporting our mission of delivering nourishment and companionship. Join us to make an immediate impact in a vibrant, fast‑paced culinary environment.

In this role you will:

• First and foremost, align with our mission and values as an organization.
• Accurately and efficiently portion food components into individual meal trays or bulk pans in an assembly‑line environment for fresh, frozen, and shelf‑stable meals.
• Retrieve and open food products from storage to support daily production needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work surfaces as required.
• Follow proper and safe chemical handling procedures.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards to ensure product quality and safety.
• Set up, tear down, and clean equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform dishwashing duties, including manual washing and operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Complete general cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to strengthen your skills and grow within the team
