When not traveling, this role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI, 3 days per week. Significant travel within the U.S. (at least 50%) is required to various locations to conduct work. You will work during early mornings, nights, or weekends. What You'll Do The role of the Major Gift Officer Associate will be to manage a portfolio of $250K - $500K and up to 100 prospective donors of the Ross School of Business, with a primary focus on individual Lead Annual (commitments $50,000 and above) and Major Gifts (commitments of $100,000 and above). You will report to the Senior Associate Director of Development. In consultation with the Director and Senior Associate Directors, the Major Gift Officer Associate will help develop and implement a strategy for the discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donor prospects within an assigned geographic area. - In coordination with the Senior Associate Director, work a geographic area of prospects and donors.
- Identify and qualify a portfolio of prospects with capacity to make Lead Annual Giving and Major Gifts ($100,000 or more).
- Gather data, assess prospects, and develop strategies designed to realize current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects.
- Participate in the development of geographic area objectives and strategies.
- Participate in stewardship strategy setting with Donor Relations for assigned geographic area.
- Develop and maintain appropriate and effective reporting of activity and monitoring of resources or expenditures associated with program and portfolio.
- Assist in the execution of a major School-wide fundraising campaign as it relates to the University-wide campaign.
- Partner with volunteer committees and individual alumni volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer leadership for regional campaign fundraising activities, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in fundraising (especially in personal solicitation programs) or relevant work experience in sales or similar field
- Experience in closing Lead Annual Giving and Major Gifts, or other kinds of solicitation
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data to drive strategies with the ability to conceptualize, develop, implement, and assess strategic development activities
- Project management and organizational skills, Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
