Business Development - US Foodservices

We’re looking for two results‑driven Business Development Specialists to help shape our future by identifying and securing new business opportunities with both existing and prospective customers. One role will support customers across the Eastern and Central Time Zones (EST/CST), and the other will support the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones (MST/PST). Candidates may be located anywhere, provided they live within one hour of a major airport.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solution‑based selling, enjoys building relationships from the ground up, and is motivated by winning new business and driving sustainable revenue growth.

What You’ll Do
As a Business Development Specialist, you will:
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within untapped or low‑penetration accounts through prospecting, networking, market research, and GPO customer list analysis
- Build and maintain a targeted account pipeline, tracking all activity and progress through CRM systems
- Quickly assess opportunities, build credibility with decision‑makers, and close profitable, sustainable business
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve individual and team goals, with a strong focus on new customer acquisition
- Transition stabilized, revenue‑producing accounts to District Management following established processes
- Manage pricing, terms, and contracts to deliver win‑win outcomes while aligning with company policies
- Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and market shifts to uncover new growth opportunities
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, pricing, marketing, customer success, and operations to deliver customer‑aligned solutions
- Serve as the primary liaison between assigned accounts and internal teams to ensure alignment and execution
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, communicate progress, and escalate support needs as appropriate
- Lead or support RFPs, supplier agreements, and other customer documentation
- Prepare thoroughly for sales calls using data analysis, product knowledge, and creative sales approaches
- Bring urgency, adaptability, and ownership to every stage of the sales process
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, supply chain, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in business development or sales, with a strong emphasis on new customer acquisition
- Proven track record of success in a sales or business development role
- Self‑motivated, proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a target‑driven environment
- Strong skills in prospecting, relationship building, negotiation, presenting, and closing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence decision‑makers and articulate value propositions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay composed in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and reporting/planning skills
- Proficiency with PowerPoint for virtual and in‑person presentations
Experience working with CRM platforms, Power BI, or similar analytics tools, preferred
