Operating Room RN Job Details

• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109
• Facility: Leading Level 1 Trauma Center
• Unit: Surgery – Operating Room
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 – $2,420
• Start Dates: 9/30/2025, 10/7/2025, 10/20/2025, 10/21/2025
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Scrubs Provided
• Charting System: Epic (preferred)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (required for most start dates)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (2 years preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• Proven experience in Thoracic, ENT, Neuro, and Oral surgery cases
• Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes
• Two supervisory references required at submission (charge references not accepted)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Epic charting experience preferred (required for 10/7/2025 start date)

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for adult patients in neurosurgery, otolaryngology, oral maxillofacial, thoracic (excluding transplant), and spine (neuro and ortho) procedures
• Circulate and scrub in a wide range of complex surgical cases
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services
• Utilize Pyxis medication system and Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting
• Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring rapid response for urgent cases
• Support trauma cases as part of the Level 1 trauma center team
• Manage specimen labeling, universal protocol procedures, and wound care
