Key Construction Group is looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on construction projects throughout our service region. This individual will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires consistent travel and extended stays near project sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure adherence to the project schedule and quality.
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections and weekly safety meetings; enforce OSHA standards and site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain detailed and accurate daily logs and reports using project management software.
- Coordinate with the project manager, architects, engineers, and owners to resolve construction issues.
- Ensure project materials are ordered, delivered, and installed on schedule.
- Monitor and control jobsite cleanliness, logistics, and security.
- Ensure compliance with plans, specs, building codes, and company standards.
- Travel to and remain on-site for the duration of each project (typically 36 months, depending on project scope).
- Assist with scheduling, look-ahead planning, and coordination of critical path tasks.
- Lead site meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
- Participate in punch list walks and closeout procedures.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial or multifamily construction.
- Proven track record managing ground-up and/or renovation projects valued at $1M$20M+.
- Ability and willingness to travel and stay on site for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Proficient in reading blueprints, site plans, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience in hospitality, healthcare, retail, or multifamily projects.
- Knowledge of local and regional building codes and permitting processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
