ACAL Precision Products is a CNC machine shop focused on prototype and short-run builds for automotive and defense customers. A Day in This Role

You’ll step onto the floor each morning with a clear plan for every machine on the shop grid. Jobs have been released; now your role is to orchestrate the flow—from material staging and tooling readiness to operator direction and delivery timing. As the non-machining leader on the floor, you set priorities, remove roadblocks, and keep production synchronized across teams.

• Finalize and publish the day’s schedule across multiple CNC assets
• Verify materials, tooling, and fixtures are staged before each setup
• Walk the floor, check progress, and reset priorities as changes arise
• Resolve bottlenecks quickly to protect delivery commitments
• Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and quality to keep work moving
• Report job status, risks, and needs in weekly management meetings
• Champion a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What You’ll Own

• End-to-end job tracking from release through completion and shipment
• Communication of expectations and priorities to operators
• Daily optimization of shop throughput and machine utilization

What You Bring

• 10+ years as a shop foreman, production controller, or manufacturing supervisor
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining and the realities of prototype/short-run flow
• Exceptional planning, communication, and leadership abilities
• Calm, decisive approach to shifting priorities and short lead times
