In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the design, integration, and commissioning of advanced test systems, ensuring they meet rigorous regulatory and certification standards. You’ll work hands-on with sophisticated technology, tackle complex technical challenges, and develop solutions that directly impact the future of automotive emissions testing. Location Requirement: Candidates should be based in Southeast Michigan Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position. Roles:

• Design and implement complex emissions and certification test systems
• Integrate subsystems and lead system commissioning activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues
• Serve as a technical leader on-site, driving projects through to successful completion
• Partner closely with Project Managers to manage timelines and budgets
• Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and exceptional service
• Act as liaison and company representative with customers.

* Commission test systems including:

• Setup and troubleshoot test and measurement systems
• Implement and tune complex control loops
• Integrate auxiliary equipment into test systems
• Setup monitoring and control of relevant safeties
• Create commissioning documentation
• Provide training on system applications
• Obtain customer sign-off
• Write and implement complex custom tests
• Provide sales technical support.
• Provide project engineering technical support.
• Help desk consultation.
• Develop and present advanced training.
• Technical research.
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

• 5-7+ years of relevant experience in emissions systems, regulations, testing, and commissioning
• Strong background in the automotive industry
• Deep technical expertise and a passion for emissions and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Bachelors' degree in engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in engineering or equivalent preferred
• Proficient in mechanical and electrical assembly
• Proficient in vibration analysis and torsional vibration analysis
• Experience in test automation equipment preferred
• In depth understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
• Expertise related to testing methods and applications
• Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings
• Strong software adaption and modification skills preferred
• Background in vehicle emissions equipment
• Experience with programming or testing of vehicle or engine emissions.
• Understanding of instrumentation and electrical processes
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required
