Part Time Accounting Clerk
Description
The Kensington Hotel is looking for a detail-oriented, part-time Accounting Clerk with the potential to turn into full time. Position will be primarily Monday thru Wednesday, but may vary based on need. Must have excellent Excel skills!
- Income audit – verify and reconcile daily transactions from all revenue generating departments. Balance & distribute the Daily Revenue report
- Communication and training with night audit as needed
- Post as necessary and invoice all direct bill accounts.
- Maintains an organized and accurate direct billing file.
- Catering – reconcile BEO’s with billing/process payments
- Handle customer inquiries regarding billing and completes all requests for receipt copies.
- Research chargebacks, billing disputes, etc.
- Assist with month end inventories as needed
- Maintaining tax exemption certificates
- Responsible for clerical functions related to the position.
- Responsible for check control procedures
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Assists other Accounting Personnel when needed
- Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of related accounting experience with hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable, daily income audit, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10-key by touch.
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
- Ability to accurately input information into excel
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and Opera
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
