Bankruptcy Paralegal Position Summary:
This Bankruptcy Paralegal position is responsible for assisting with creditor legal proceedings, handling high-volume paperwork, conducting research, and preparing court filings. They must communicate cross-functionally with clients, courts, and attorneys in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
Bankruptcy Paralegal Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and e-file legal documents with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Service as a key point of contact; responding promptly to inquiries via email, phone, and voicemail.
- Provide clear, accurate updates on case status and escalate complex matters as needed.
- Maintain and update case files, track deadlines, and ensure the timely progression of cases through the legal process.
- Perform data entry, maintain case management systems, and ensure all documentation adheres to internal standard operating procedures and external regulatory requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- 1-3 years of bankruptcy or creditors' rights paralegal experience required; 4+ years preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Michigan court procedures and filing requirements.

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., averaging 40 hours per week. Overtime hours may become available and required based on business needs.
