Desired Qualifications:

• Current, valid Michigan special education teaching licensure
• Previous experience in a middle school special education environment preferred
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning climate

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse abilities at the middle school level
• Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal standards
• Monitor student progress, track objectives, and adapt teaching strategies for optimal growth
• Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, and parents to promote student achievement
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and document ongoing assessments and interventions
• Cultivate a safe, positive, and resourceful classroom environment
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development activities
