Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Manager to lead teams delivering Tier 0 DDoS protection and network security services. You will own strategy, planning, and operational excellence for globally scalable defenses, while building, coaching, and mentoring engineering talent. You will also drive new service and product development-from concept and business cases through GA-partnering across product, architecture, and operations to deliver secure, reliable customer outcomes.
Responsibilities

Strategy and delivery: Define roadmap and quarterly plans for DDoS and network security; align with OCI priorities and revenue goals.

Team building and leadership: Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing, diverse team; set goals/OKRs, provide continuous feedback, career paths, and succession planning.

Coaching and mentoring: Grow senior ICs and emerging leaders; establish technical ladders, mentorship programs, and knowledge-sharing rituals.

New service and product development: Lead initiatives and enhancements; own PRD alignment, resourcing, stage gates, and launch readiness for customer-facing DDoS offerings.

Program execution: Oversee capacity planning, traffic engineering, telemetry, and automation for detection/mitigation at scale.

Operational excellence: Establish SLOs/SLAs and KPIs; drive incident readiness, on-call health, post-incident improvements, and compliance.

Security by design: Govern architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk remediation; ensure auditability and policy adherence.

Cross-functional leadership: Partner with networking, edge, SRE, and product to integrate capabilities and deliver platform resiliency.

Vendor and budget management: Manage spend, contracts, and build-vs-buy decisions with clear ROI.

Communications: Provide executive updates on status, risks, and mitigations; make data-driven tradeoffs.
Qualifications
-
10+ years in network/security engineering with 4+ years managing engineering teams delivering production-critical services.

Proven delivery of large-scale DDoS or network security programs in cloud, hyperscale, or ISP environments.

Track record building and scaling teams; coaching senior engineers and developing future leaders.

Experience taking services/products from concept to GA, including roadmap ownership and launch accountability.

Strong grounding in routing and protocols (BGP, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6), DNS/DHCP fundamentals; able to guide architectural decisions.

Demonstrated leadership in incident management, resilience engineering, and operational maturity.

Fluency with automation-first operations (Python/Go), CI/CD, IaC, and observability at scale.

Experience with Java, C++ or Rust and Infrastructure as Code.

Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication; data-driven prioritization.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SDN, advanced telemetry, programmable data planes, or hardware mitigation platforms.

Background in capacity modeling, anycast/traffic steering, multi-region service readiness.

Familiarity with zero trust, segmentation, and modern security architectures.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $115,600 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
