Summary:
The Manager of Air Compliance leads all aspects of environmental air compliance for the organization. This includes managing air permits and reporting, monitoring and auditing compliance activities, and providing training and guidance to employees at all levels. This role partners closely with environmental leadership to ensure the company meets all regulatory obligations while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate the impact of new and pending environmental regulations???particularly under the Clean Air Act???on business operations.
Support facility teams with environmental permitting, compliance strategies, and long-term operational planning.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies on air compliance matters.
Develop and oversee strategies, budgets, and schedules for permitting and compliance programs.
Establish and implement environmental policies, procedures, and performance targets.
Create and maintain tools for compliance tracking, documentation, and reporting to government agencies.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
Prepare compliance summaries and documentation for legal, financial, and insurance purposes.
Represent the company on industry and regulatory committees focused on environmental policy and best practices.
Support capital projects by providing permitting expertise and budgetary input.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor???s or Master???s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline (e.g., Chemistry or Biology with relevant experience).
Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance and air permitting (Title V experience strongly preferred).
At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Professional licensing or recognized environmental certification preferred.
Experience in the process manufacturing or food production industry is a plus.
