We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take on the challenge of designing new power substations and upgrading existing facilities from 12kV to 500kV. Youll be responsible for utilizing accepted practices and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety. What Youll Do:

• Develop project plans including project scope of work and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for complex multi-discipline-based substation Engineering projects and EPC projects
• Manage Substation project execution including project scope schedule budget and project resources including external vendors consultants and contractors
• Effectively track and stabilize projects implement solutions to obstacles and ensure client goals are achieved
• Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities
• Prepare and review preliminary designs
• Prepare proposals including budgetary estimates
• Lead the development of plans specifications studies estimates material lists and other deliverables
• Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program

Develop new or modify existing:

• Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures
• Substation foundation layout/plan drawings
• Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings
• Conduit layout/plan drawings
• Substation grounding layout/plan drawings
• Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings

Lead mentor and help grow a team of engineers and designers:

• Manage day-to-day activities for your team
• Set goals and expectations for each team member
• Assist in annual performance reviews
• Assist in recruiting efforts - posting job requisitions and participating in interviews

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8 years of direct substation experience in both physical and electrical engineering
• Professional Engineering license in any state and the ability to acquire further licensure in other states
• A combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be considered in lieu of education and experience requirements
• Solid comprehension and application of design software including MicroStation and AutoCAD and other 3D applications
• Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel which are frequently used to develop project deliverables
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs
• Ability to work in a team environment with others including but not limited to Project Managers Engineers Designers and drafters in multi-disciplinary groups
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and work product quality

Salary Range:

At Verdantas we offer comprehensive benefits packages for our employees. Actual salary is based on the circumstances of each position and candidate such as geographic location skills and certifications. We recognize and reward exceptional performance and strive to ensure fair compensation across all roles and departments within the company. The minimum salary for this position is $140000 (negotiable based on the criteria presented above).
