Principal Engineer

We improve life through design. Our Detroit office is seeking a full-time Healthcare Principal to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will develop and lead our Healthcare sector, focusing on client relationship development, healthcare planning, and project leadership.

- Serve as a thought leader by researching innovations, drivers, and trends in healthcare environments.
- Coordinate with architectural and engineering directors on the recruitment and training of staff with essential skills for healthcare projects.
- Mentor and inspire the next generation of leaders.
- Cultivate new and existing healthcare client and partner relationships.
- Actively participate in professional associations and networking events.
- Lead the development of proposals in partnership with Marketing.
- Champion the interview team through development and presentation.
- Contribute to financial profits through healthcare project wins.
- Lead the design and delivery of healthcare projects.
- Collaborate with operational and technical directors and project leads to ensure innovative solutions.
- Manage client relationships throughout projects to ensure alignment between expectations, scope, and deliverables.
- Monitor and manage projects to complete within contract schedule and fees.
- Participate in post-occupancy evaluation and research initiatives.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a project principal and/or project architect with construction budgets greater than $25M.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a department and/or market leader with annual financial goals.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining client and partner relationships.
- Experience in all stages of business development, including responding to proposals and finalizing contracts.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
- Architectural registration.
- Preferred credentials: LEED, WELL, EDAC.
- Proficiency in architecture software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
