Industrial Design Intern
Are you passionate about creating innovative, user-centered product designs? We are looking for a motivated and creative Industrial Design Engineering Co-op to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Industrial Design to gain hands-on experience working alongside engineers, designers, and product managers. You'll play an integral role in shaping the design process through user research, ideation, 3D modeling, prototyping, and collaboration. Your ideas will help bring products to life!

What You Will Do:
- Conducting user research: Assisting with or leading user interviews, surveys, and other research methods to understand user needs and preferences.
- Brainstorming and ideation: Participating in brainstorming sessions to generate new product concepts and features.
- Sketching and concept development: Creating initial sketches and renderings to visualize design ideas.
- 3D modeling and prototyping: Developing 3D models and prototypes using CAD software and other tools.
- Material selection and manufacturing considerations: Researching and recommending appropriate materials and manufacturing processes.
- Collaboration: Working closely with engineers, marketers, and other team members to ensure design feasibility and alignment with product goals.
- Design refinement: Iterating on designs based on feedback and testing.
- Presentation: Presenting design concepts and prototypes to internal teams and clients.
- Market research: Staying up to date on industry trends and competitor products.
- Documentation: Maintaining design documentation and specifications.
What You Will Bring:
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status at an accredited college or university and working towards a bachelor’s degree in industrial design
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Strong verbal communication skills in order to clearly explain options and solutions to end-users
- Strong written communication skills demonstrating the ability to prepare outlines, reports, letters, and any other supplemental materials in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to identify issues, compare data, and investigate discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
- Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
- Ability to collaborate with team members
