About the Role

Wayne Wire Cloth Products, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer / Procurement Specialist for our Hillman site. This position helps keep production moving by purchasing materials, outside services, equipment, and supplies while maintaining strong supplier follow-up, accurate ERP records, and required documentation. The successful candidate will be organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where purchasing decisions directly impact production flow and customer delivery.

What You Will Do

• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders using Global Shop ERP.
• Purchase raw materials, hardware, MRO items, packaging, and outside processing services as assigned.
• Request quotes, compare supplier responses, and support sourcing decisions.
• Confirm supplier acknowledgments, pricing, lead times, promise dates, and delivery status.
• Follow up on open orders, past-due items, shortages, certification needs, and supplier documentation gaps.
• Work with Production Planning, Quality, Receiving, Inventory, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve issues quickly.
• Help maintain accurate ERP data, supplier records, lead times, pricing, and purchase order notes.
• Support supplier performance, on-time delivery, cost control, inventory alignment, and production readiness.

What We Are Looking For

• Purchasing, sourcing, customer service, production control, or manufacturing administrative experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize urgent needs, follow up with suppliers, and escalate risks before they affect production.
• Comfort working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel; Global Shop ERP experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand part numbers, revisions, purchase requirements, and basic technical documentation.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, custom filtration, metal fabrication, machining, or precision manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of AS9100, material certifications, traceability, approved supplier requirements, or outside processing is helpful.
• Candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements for assigned work.
