The Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance operations within a high-volume automotive Tier 1 manufacturing environment, focusing on mechanical stamping presses and related systems. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and team development to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency. The position offers occasional overtime and career advancement potential to Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach a team of maintenance technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Lead daily troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities
- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical stamping presses
- Diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Coordinate maintenance priorities with production leadership to minimize downtime
- Enforce safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with training and development of maintenance personnel
- Support installation, startup, and optimization of new or existing equipment
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing
- 2+ years supervisory or lead experience
- Hands-on experience with mechanical stamping presses (non-negotiable)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to lead by example in a hands-on maintenance role
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
- Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing experience
- Experience supporting high-speed, high-volume production environments
