Location : Livonia
Schedule : Start between 5:30–6:00 AM, end around 4:30 PM (approximately 40–45 hours per week; up to 48–50 hours with OT) might transition into a split shift
Status : Salary, weekly pay basis
Type : Non-union role, will be overseeing some union employees

Position Overview

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shipping, receiving, packing, and tumbling operations. This role manages a team of around 20 employees and ensures efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all materials and shipments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at motivating and communicating with team members to maintain a productive and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of over 20 employees in shipping, receiving, packing, and tumbling operations.
• Oversee forklift operations (stand-up and sit-down hi-los).
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Streamline processes and implement system-oriented improvements to increase efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to shipping and receiving activities.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to resolve issues and meet production goals.
• Motivate and coach team members to maintain focus and performance.
• Potentially work split shifts as needed to support operations.
• Ensure EP/PLEX system accuracy and adherence to process standards.
• Support potential overtime and Saturday operations when required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working in a union environment is preferred, though this is a non-union position.
• Ability to motivate and lead a diverse team effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and quality.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.

Compensation & Schedule

• Salary based on a 40–45 hour workweek; straight-time pay for overtime over 46 hours.
• Typical total hours: 48–50 hours with overtime.
• Start time between 5:30–6:00 AM; end time around 4:30 PM.
