Account Executive

Detroit Pistons
Detroit, MI
Description

Are you looking to be part of a high-performing team of go-getters who make a difference both on and off the court? Join the Detroit Pistons as we harness the power of basketball to unite our city, elevate our fans, and drive lasting community impact.

The Account Executive role is a full-time, entry-level sales position designed to cultivate and develop the next generation of sports industry leaders. This role serves as the foundation of our sales organization and provides hands-on training, daily coaching, and real-time selling experience within a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for generating new revenue through outbound prospecting, relationship building, and consultative selling across a variety of ticketing products and fan engagement opportunities. This position is built for driven, competitive, and coachable individuals who are motivated to grow. Through structured training, mentorship from senior sales leaders, and measurable performance goals, we empower you with the tools, resources, and feedback needed to accelerate your development. Success in this role creates a clear pathway to advanced sales positions within our organization and across the sports and entertainment industry. We are committed to preparing you not just for your next role, but for long-term career success.

This role is designed as a 12-month immersive sales development program, providing hands-on training and performance-based opportunities for extension or promotion within the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive new revenue by selling full season memberships, partial plans, group outings, premium seating, luxury suites, and loge boxes for the Detroit Pistons.
  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting through calls, emails, social outreach, networking events, sales tables, seat visits, and in-person appointments to generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct in-arena appointments and personalized tours of Little Caesars Arena to showcase seating options and premium experiences to prospective clients.
  • Convert inbound single-game ticket inquiries into larger ticket packages, group outings, or premium experiences through consultative upselling.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, tracking all client and prospect activity accurately within the CRM system.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both prospects and existing clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions on game nights and event days.
  • Develop and execute creative sales strategies, referral programs, and theme-based outreach initiatives to drive incremental revenue.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, ongoing training sessions, and coaching programs designed to enhance your sales skills and accelerate career growth.
  • Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and revenue goals in a competitive, team-oriented sales environment.

  • Resilient mindset with the ability to handle objections and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
