We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and experienced Virtual School Psychologist to provide remote psychological services to a diverse K12 student population. This position plays a critical role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success of students through virtual assessments, counseling, consultation, and collaboration.
We are looking for a licensed school psychologist who holds a Masters degree , has at least two years of school-based experience , and is highly comfortable working in virtual settings. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are skilled in online service delivery and looking to make a meaningful impact from a flexible, remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities Evaluation & Assessment (Remote)Conduct virtual psychoeducational evaluations , re-evaluations, and functional behavior assessments (FBA) using district-approved digital tools and protocols.
Administer, score, and interpret academic, cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments to support eligibility for special education and intervention services.
Write comprehensive, data-driven evaluation reports that inform educational planning and are compliant with IDEA and Michigan Department of Education guidelines.
Attend and contribute to IEP, MET, and student support team meetings remotely.
Provide consultative support to teachers, school counselors, special education staff, and administrators to promote student success and behavioral/academic intervention.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized student supports.
Offer virtual counseling or social-emotional learning sessions as needed, both one-on-one and in small groups, for general education and special education students.
Support the development of self-regulation, coping strategies, conflict resolution, and school adjustment skills.
Maintain timely documentation for assessments, counseling services, and case notes.
Ensure all work is in alignment with district timelines, ethical standards, and federal/state regulations.
Masters degree (or higher) in School Psychology from an accredited institution
Valid School Psychologist license/certification in the state of Michigan
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a K12 school setting
Strong understanding of special education law, particularly IDEA and Section 504
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage caseload, conduct assessments, and engage in virtual meetings independently and responsibly
Experience providing school psychological services in a virtual environment
Familiarity with remote assessment platforms (e.g., Q-Global, Pearson Q-Interactive, Riverside)
Bilingual (Arabic or Bengali preferred) given Hamtramcks diverse student population
Background working in urban or multicultural educational settings
