Staff Program Manager, Trailering
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Innovation Center in Warren (MI) or Proving Ground in Milford (MI) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at either of these 2 locations.

The Role
As a Staff Program Manager for Trailering within our Infotainment & Connectivity PMO, you will play a critical role in orchestrating the delivery of complex Trailering features from chassis, in vehicle application, mobile & web. You will ensure seamless coordination across engineering, product, and design teams, driving operational excellence and enabling scalable processes that support GM’s vision for safe, reliable vehicles with a competitive trailering experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead execution of complex, cross-functional infotainment and connectivity programs, ensuring alignment on scope, resources, and timelines for the Trailering domain end to end.
Develop and maintain operational plans, track milestones, and proactively manage risks to ensure on-time delivery across all teams for trailering such as chassis, application, mobile & web.
Coordinate across engineering, product management, and supply chain to support vehicle launch deliverables and resolve critical issues.
Design and optimize operational workflows for software integration and vehicle interface systems, driving process efficiency.
Facilitate change management and adoption of new tools, systems, and operational rhythms across teams.
Lead recurring operational reviews, readiness checks, and launch alignment meetings; provide executive-level reporting and dashboards.
Forecast resource needs, monitor program risks, and ensure compliance with safety-critical software development practices.
Champion operational best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to scale processes and enhance program performance.
Act as a trusted partner to leadership, providing insights on program status, dependencies, and strategic trade-offs.
Lead regular sync with program teams to ensure alignment on current tasks and future initiatives are understood.
Travel will be required between Michigan and Markham locations (1-2x per year)
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
7+ years of experience in operations or program management roles in fast-paced, technical environments
5+ years leading complex software or systems programs with direct ownership of delivery execution across multiple functions
Proven track record in aligning cross functional teams, including product, engineering, supply chain, and operations, toward shared outcomes
Experience operating in matrixed organizations, with strong influence skills and executive presence
Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies; fluency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Smartsheet or similar platforms
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior leadership
Ability to operate effectively in high complexity product environments, particularly in automotive systems
What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems, Operations, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred
Experience with IVI, Infotainment systems, or automotive interface software/hardware integration
Background in technical program management in R&D, manufacturing, or automotive product development (Trailering background or experience a plus)
Ability to scale operational systems and processes to support evolving technology roadmaps and launch targets
Familiarity with systems engineering principles, validation cycles, and safety standards relevant to automotive domains

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
