Job Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department. The role ensures that industrial water pumps and related parts are accurately received, processed, and shipped out efficiently. The Lead is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supervising the shipping and receiving staff, and certifying that all procedures comply with company policies and safety regulations.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of shipping and receiving clerks
• Train, mentor and evaluate staff performance
• Schedule and assign tasks to guarantee efficient workflow
• Coordinate and oversee the preparation of outgoing shipments
• Ensure accurate packing, labeling and documentation of shipments
• Oversee the unloading, inspection and verification of incoming shipments
• Proper documentation and inventory recording of received items
• Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and received goods
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits
• Implement and manage inventory control procedures
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team for reordering
• Inspect shipments for damage and discrepancies
• Verify that all products meet quality standards before shipping
• Handle returns and exchanges in coordination with quality assurance
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
• Maintain accurate shipping records, receipts and inventory levels
• Communicate effectively with other departments including quality control, rental (GPR), production, sales, and corporate
• Assist in coordination of international shipping, including maintenance of related documents

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is preferred
• Experience in shipping and receiving role, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Organizational and time-management abilities
• Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as needed
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and handling materials
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
