Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and document laser welding processes and parameters.
• Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues, implementing effective solutions.
• Design, qualify, and validate laser weld fixtures and tooling.
• Conduct root cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining weld specifications and procedures.
• Ensure all laser welding operations comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance and external vendors for equipment calibration and preventative maintenance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting industrial laser welding processes.
• Strong understanding of laser-material interaction, weld metallurgy, and common welding defects.
• Proven ability to implement and manage laser welding solutions within a manufacturing production environment.
• Proficiency in weld inspection techniques, metrology, and data-driven process control (e.g., SPC).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic integration and programming for laser welding applications.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for process optimization.
• Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) principles and methods for weld inspection.
• Advanced understanding of metallurgy and material science related to laser-material interaction.
