Associate Attorney

Klug Law Firm, located in Okemos, MI, is looking to hire an Associate Attorney to assist in the following practice areas: business, real estate, development and litigation (including but not limited to general civil and landlord tenant).

Associate will handle cases and assist attorneys in the following practice areas: real estate development; commercial lease issues; residential lease issues; business formation; business transaction (sale and acquisition of businesses); commercial transaction, landlord tenant matters, and civil litigation. Other areas the associate might assist in are estate planning and probate matters.

Candidate must have strong legal research and writing skills as they will be drafting motions, briefs, leases and business agreements. Candidate will also meet with clients and appear in court for hearings and trials when needed.

Salary

· Hired candidate out of law school will be compensated at $65,000.00 until passing the bar and licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan. Salary will increase to $75,000.00 per year plus bonus structure once licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan. Depending on performance and billable hours salary will increase to $85,000.00 after full year of being licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.

· Hired candidates licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan the salary is competitive based on experience with bonus structure.

Qualifications

· Must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and falls under one of the following categories:

o An attorney licensed in the State of Michigan;

o A recent law school graduate who sat for the February 2026 bar exam in the State of Michigan; or

o A law student who will graduate in May of 2026 and will sit for the July 2026 bar exam in the State of Michigan.
