Position Details

Schedule (Salaried Positions): MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m., or another full-time equivalent schedule as determined by the Director or Supervisor for Salaried.

Schedule (Contractual Positions): Full-time or part-time schedules are available for contractual positions, based on mutual agreement.

Reports to: Clinical Director / Associate Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: Opportunities available on either a salaried or contractual basis, commensurate with experience, license type, and productivity. Salaried positions range from $60,000 $70,000 annually, with eligibility for productivity bonuses awarded twice per year (every six months). Contractual positions offer a fee split structure based on license type and productivity.

Position Summary

The Substance Use Disorder Clinical Therapist is a position providing therapeutic services in an outpatient setting, supporting the Outpatient, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and FACE to FACE Partial Hospital programs as needed. This role includes delivering individual, family, and group therapy; providing support and therapeutic interventions for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; maintaining up-to-date case files in the electronic medical record (EMR); and handling administrative duties such as care coordination, discharge planning, and program compliance while upholding high ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform telehealth and in-person health screenings and assessments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission of all required paperwork in compliance with the policies and procedures (P&P) manual.
  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care by addressing clients' needs with professionalism, empathy, and creativity, while delivering high-quality therapeutic services, including assessments, intakes, individual, family, and/or group therapy, in accordance with professional standards and the agency's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain full-time billing requirements for salaried positions by achieving a minimum of 32 billed SALs per week.
  • Develop and complete treatment plans and clinical case notes in a timely and accurate manner using a person-centered process.
  • Complete discharge planning and coordinate care as required to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of services as required.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Complete Utilization Review assignments including but not limited to obtaining authorizations for services provided.
  • Demonstrate and maintain stable, professional, and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
  • Appropriately manage and resolve crisis situations all while maintaining professionalism and ensuring client safety.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude toward learning and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to accept constructive feedback, implement guidance, and show a willingness to grow and improve professionally.
  • Meet eligibility requirements and successfully pass the Michigan licensing exam for full licensure within the required timeframe, if applicable.
  • Stay current with professional training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Working Conditions

  • This role requires extended periods of remaining in a stationary position during HIPAA-compliant telehealth and in-person sessions and requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending and reaching.   • The position involves prolonged active listening and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in using computers, phones, and office equipment for documentation and telehealth purposes is necessary. This includes but is not limited to Office 365 and Electronic Medical Record systems.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in social work, counseling, or psychology required.
  • Active current clinical licensure (LPC, LMSW, LLP, LP preferred; LLC, LLMSW acceptable; TLLP not eligible) in the State of Michigan and continued satisfactory standings with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
