Estimator

An Estimator provides cost projections as it relates to projects, products, and services. Assists the business development team with proposals, understanding the customer's specifications, tracking costs, and calculating the final budget for the project, product, or service. Assists with gathering product data, providing recommendations, and acting as a resource to clients as requested. Will be required to build and maintain positive relationships with both clients and suppliers.

Duties

• Accurately determine the cost of projects based upon provided documentation
• Ensure complete info is obtained and proactively request missing info
• Request proposals from suppliers in a timely manner
• Execute smooth and efficient handoffs to PMs
• Create and maintain positive relationships with both suppliers and clients
• Actively solicit bid invitations from clients
• Proactively provide cost saving alternatives to clients
• Consistently follow up with clients
• Track bid submittals and results
• Assist with workflow planning
• Attend offsite construction meetings as needed
• Provide market condition updates to VP Commercial Operations

Skills

• Ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets, and deadlines
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and estimating software
• Ability to read architectural plans and work scopes
• Ability to manage time well and multitask
• Strong understanding of the commercial construction process
• Attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate and build relationships (strong interpersonal skills)
• 5 years' experience in the glazing industry preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, analytical, and strong problem-solving skills
