Job Description

This 1st shift Electrical Assembly Technician position is crucial within the new wiring department. The role involves working from Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime on Friday, which is confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Responsibilities

• Strip wire and add crimps, ensuring hand-eye coordination.
• Add pin connectors and torque connectors.
• Work within a manufacturing facility to assemble solar panel power boxes and switchboards.
• Pull wire, spool it, and read prints to determine assembly parts for panels.
• Work as a team on the assembly line, using hand tools, air power tools, and torque wrenches.
• Screw in screws, nuts, and bolts, and strip wires into metal plates to assemble power boxes.
• Assemble 64 panels per day after completing training.

Essential Skills

• Blueprint or schematic reading.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Experience using basic hand tools.
• Ability to learn crimping devices, wire machines, and strip machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

Work in a clean facility, engaging in manual labor that involves lifting up to 40 lbs. Collaborate as a team on the assembly line and during wire spooling. Dress code is casual, requiring shirts with sleeves and steel toe boots. You may wear one earbud during work, and the company provides safety glasses and gloves if needed. The environment is non-temperature controlled, with fans available, and small teams of roughly 4-6 persons working together. The team is expanding to accommodate a 3rd shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Walker, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
