Fitter Technician

Company introduction

We are seeking a skilled Welder with strong fitting, MIG, and TIG welding experience to join our team.

Role summary / purpose

The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to blueprints and specifications, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Measure, cut, and fit metal components to precise tolerances
• Set up welding equipment and ensure proper operation
• Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity
• Grind, clean, and finish welds as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Requirements - education & experience

• 5 years proven experience with MIG and TIG welding
• Strong fitting and fabrication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Knowledge of welding symbols and standards
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Nice-to-have / preferred skills

• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) or qualifying certification or minimum of 10 total years welding experience
• Hilo and overhead crane experience is a plus
• Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Knowledge of different metal properties and welding techniques
