Job Description:
The State of Michigan – DTMB/eMichigan is seeking a skilled Programmer Analyst 5 to join a small, agile development team focused on building performant, usable, and accessible digital experiences for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills in C#, Angular, and .NET Core, along with solid experience in modern version control strategies and collaborative development.
Specialty Areas:
• Application Development – Building C# MVC web services and Angular-based frontends.
• SDLC Execution – Engaging in the full lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment.
• Data Integration – Implementing data access layers using Entity Framework and MS SQL.
• Version Control – Applying effective branching and merging strategies in team environments.
• Cross-functional Collaboration – Partnering with stakeholders and product owners for business-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to gather and define requirements
• Develop application logic using C# MVC and Angular frontend frameworks
• Create and optimize backend services using .NET Core
• Build and maintain data access layers via Entity Framework and MS SQL
• Utilize version control tools to manage branching, merging, and deployments
• Participate in code reviews and agile team ceremonies
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable, and accessible code
• Troubleshoot and debug complex application issues

Mandatory Requirements:
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in:
Developing C# MVC web services

• Must be able to work onsite 2 days per week (Monday & Tuesday) in Lansing, MI
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in agile team environments
• Familiarity with accessible and responsive design practices
• Knowledge of application security best practices
• Prior experience with state/local government IT systems
