- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (Short Term Acute Care)
- Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: September 30, 2025
- End Date: January 20, 2026
- Contract Length: 16 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Hunter Green
- Parking: Free with badge access
- Active Michigan RN license (must be valid by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience
- Current BCLS (AHA) certification required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Telemetry nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Experience in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Ventilator Management, Conscious Sedation
- Ability to float to all adult acute care units as needed
- Proof of high school education required
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac stepdown unit
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including pre/post-op cardiac catheterization, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure (CHF), and vasoactive drips
- Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.)
- Float to other adult acute care units as needed
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Complete orientation and required modules prior to start date
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
