Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Estimated weekly pay: $1,840 - $1,890
• Location: Lansing, Michigan 48912 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (Short Term Acute Care)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: September 30, 2025
• End Date: January 20, 2026
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Scrub Color: Hunter Green
• Parking: Free with badge access

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be valid by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Ventilator Management, Conscious Sedation
• Ability to float to all adult acute care units as needed
• Proof of high school education required

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including pre/post-op cardiac catheterization, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure (CHF), and vasoactive drips
• Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.)
• Float to other adult acute care units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Complete orientation and required modules prior to start date
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
