Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Dayton, Ohio 45409 (Ohio nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit – ME6 Medical Inpatient
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (overtime paid after 48 hours for 48-hour contracts)
- Contract Length: 16-20 weeks preferred; 13 weeks accepted
- Start Date: September 15, 2025
- End Date: February 2, 2026
- Patient Ratios: Targeted 1:4, may be up to 1:5-6
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)
- Floating: May float to main, south, or north campuses (all within 15 miles)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1950-$2000
- Active RN license (any state; compact nursing license accepted)
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (2 years preferred)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with EPIC charting system required
- Must pass online EKG/tele competency assessment prior to start
- Experience with stable chronic ventilators
- IV start skills preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Must be available to float and work every other weekend/holiday
- Ability to complete compliance items (lab work, EKG exam) within 72 hours of contract signing
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a Cardiac Stepdown setting
- Monitor and manage cardiac drips, ventilators, and telemetry
- Perform IV starts, central line care, chest tube management, and wound care
- Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias
- Administer blood products, insulin drips, and heparin protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services)
- Support rapid response teams and participate in procedural sedation
- Float to other nursing units as needed, providing safe and effective care
- Document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and complete orientation modules
