Salary Range: $59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate detailed material, labor, and overhead costs for manufactured products.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and customer quotes based on specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to define scope and requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials and outsourced services.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and production times to ensure realistic cost estimations.
• Identify potential cost reduction opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
• Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and historical project data.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex cost modeling and data analysis.
• Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and material costs.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and dedicated estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience for process optimization and cost reduction identification.
• Proficiency with advanced ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with advanced CAD/CAM software for detailed material take-offs and manufacturability analysis.
• Background in supply chain management or procurement for a deeper understanding of material costs and vendor relations.
