OBGYN Urogynecologist (Detroit)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administrative
- Serve on committees related to OB/GYN, such as the Department Education Committee, Graduate Medical Education, and QA Committee.
- Participate in committees outside of OB/GYN as needed.
- Assist the Program Director with residency program administration, including curriculum development, resident rotation structuring, data collection, manual updates, and resident recruitment.
- Expand the Hospital FPMRS practice to include other FPMRS specialists, assuming administrative roles as needed.
2. Direct Patient Care (Private Patients)
- Follow safety protocols, coordinate medical care at Practice Sites, and maintain communication with referring physicians.
- Maintain a private FPMRS practice within the OB/GYN academic group, occupying up to five half-days per week, seeing a reasonable patient load per session.
- All services provided through the OB/GYN group are covered under this agreement, including liability.
- Be scheduled and available for patient care at the office and hospital for at least 36 hours weekly, with 4 hours for administrative duties, totaling 40 hours.
- Provide professional services in your specialty, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays, as scheduled and approved by the employer.
Supervised Patient Care (Staff/Clinic Patients)
- Supervise residents in FPMRS and gynecology clinics.
- Supervise residents providing inpatient care for FPMRS.
- Supervise residents offering urogynecology consultation services.
Teaching
- Participate actively in educational activities, including Grand Rounds, Morning Report, Journal Review, Textbook Exams, and Morbidity/Mortality Conference.
- Deliver invited lectures outside of OB/GYN department when requested.
- Hold weekly teaching sessions for medical students.
- Serve as an OHEP Mock Oral Board Examiner when invited.
Financial
- Accurately document revenue-generating patient encounters and ensure timely billing.
Research
- Engage in at least one publishable research project, with or without residents.
General Responsibilities
- Comply with hospital and departmental rules and bylaws.
- Achieve board certification in your specialty or subspecialty within five years if not already certified.
Support the departments staffing needs in the absence of other faculty as required.
Unless waived in writing, the physician must have or be eligible for certification by a recognized board in their primary or subspecialty field at the time of signing this agreement, and obtain certification within five years if not already certified.
