Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

The Instrument Technician supports our client's manufacturing operations by maintaining and calibrating instruments and meters that monitor and control process conditions such as pressure, temperature, flow, and data accuracy. The focus of the role is on instrument accuracy, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, ensuring systems are running reliably and in compliance with GMP and safety requirements. The technician works closely with engineering and maintenance teams, documents all work per site procedures, and supports audits and inspections as needed.

Key focus areas:

• Calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting process instruments and meters to ensure accurate readings

• Performing preventive maintenance and documenting work to meet GMP, FDA, and site requirements

Skills and Requirements

• 3-5+ years of Instrument Technician experience focusing on preventive maintenance, calibration, accuracy of instruments, meters, and gauges

• Hands on experience with SMART instruments

• Familiarity with Rosemount instruments, calibration gases (argon, nitrogen), flow transmitters, pneumatic controls

• Solid technical knowledge of 4-20 mA signals, low voltage instrumentation, and the ability to distinguish between PLC based controls and pneumatic systems; comfortable reading loop diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals

• Experience working in GMP environments, with a strong emphasis on documentation, compliance, and audit readiness
