Trystar is at the forefront of advancing power solutions, charged and driven by a committed, dynamic team, tackling complex challenges, and creating innovative solutions. Safety and integrity aren’t just buzzwords. They are the ‘north star’ guiding us as we aspire to wow our customers every day. We’ve created power solutions that are not only durable and unique but are also the result of serious teamwork from every corner of our organization. Individually and collectively, every team member at Trystar plays for each other and strives to deliver unmatched value and 100% accuracy to our customers every single day.
As a big name and pioneer in electrical power solutions, we’re not just part of the power conversation – we’re shaping its future, and we’re doing so across diverse industry sectors including healthcare, data centers, entertainment, education, government, and commercial construction – just to name a few! We’re committed to growing and evolving our product lineup to stay on top of the game and that includes leaning into sustainable, resilient, and renewable energy solutions.
Our cutting-edge headquarters in Faribault, MN, is partially solar- and wind-powered by our own microgrid! You’ll find that we’re also pushing boundaries across the country at our additional facilities across North America. Together, we are Trystar, where we power the future and nurture innovation for a brighter tomorrow.
Trystar’s team members are our most important asset. We are searching for a Senior Compliance Engineering Manager to join our team. As part of the engineering team, you will see products from the engineering prototype phase to series production. You will manage a compliance engineering team ensuring Trystar’s electrical power solutions comply with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications. You will oversee the development and implementation of compliance strategies, manage testing and certification processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to integrate compliance into product design and manufacturing. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with deep knowledge of electrical engineering, regulatory standards, and team management. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented, experienced, and motivated compliance professional who enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems with creative and innovative solutions while working with multiple different cross-functional teams.
We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:
Safety. We believe everyone should leave Trystar facilities in the same or better condition than when they arrived.
Integrity. We’re honest, transparent, and committed to doing what’s right.
Customer Focus. We have relentless focus on our customers and their success.
Right with Speed. We use good judgement, make thoughtful decisions quickly, and execute them with purpose and intensity.
Play for Each Other. We’re a team. We show up for each other and we know that through teamwork we achieve greatness.
Champion Change. We know adaptation and improvement are requirements to survive and to thrive.
Enjoy the Journey. We create an environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun along the way.
In this role you will get to:
- Regulatory Compliance. Ensure that all Trystar products meet applicable standards, including UL, NEC, IEEE, CSA, and other regional regulations.
- Team Leadership. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of compliance engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Compliance Strategy. Develop and implement strategies to maintain compliance throughout the product lifecycle, from design to manufacturing and deployment.
- Testing & Certification. Oversee testing processes, coordinate with third-party certification bodies (for example, NRTLs), and ensure timely certification of products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with commercial, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate compliance requirements into product development and production processes.
- Documentation & Auditing. Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, prepare for audits, and address findings promptly.
- Risk Assessment. Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to product safety, performance, and regulatory changes.
- Continuous Improvement. Stay updated on evolving regulations and industry trends, recommending process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication. Act as point of contact for regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
