Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep and functionality of the facility's equipment, systems, and structures. This role involves conducting routine inspections, identifying and repairing faulty equipment, implementing preventative maintenance procedures, and assisting with general facility maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring that all systems and equipment meet safety and performance standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues or necessary repairs.
- Repair faulty equipment and damaged structures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Manage and maintain heating, plumbing, and other critical systems to ensure functionality.
- Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to verify compliance with standards.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as landscaping, painting, and carpentry as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the maintenance department's budget.
- Maintain inventory records for equipment and supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems.
- Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Physically capable and available to work overtime, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred.
- Vocational/Trade training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift.
Shift: Third (3rd)
- Sunday - Thursday
- 11:00pm - 7:30am
