Our Shift Managers are also required to:

  • Consistently support a culture of safety, respect and excellence.

  • Responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including food prep, portioning of food, cooking and cleaning.

  • Maintains and properly uses all kitchen equipment including but not limited to: fryers, ovens, blenders, juicers, food processors, mixers and griddle.

  • Consistently ensures that food prep duties are excellently prepped, seasoned and cooked to the standards taught by Joe Louis Southern Kitchen culinary leaders by the designated time of completion.

  • Follows standard operating procedures of all recipes, techniques, and build sheets of assigned dishes as taught by culinary leaders.

  • Responsible for correct product storage of all mise en place, including labeling and dating procedures.

  • Supports the team (FOH and BOH) whenever needed (e.g, call-outs, catering, dishwashing etc.)

  • Collaborate with the management team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and strengthen a devoted base of regulars and return guests.

  • Has in depth working knowledge of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to keep kitchen spaces clean and sanitized, and to hold the team accountable and assists team members with the deep cleaning schedule.

  • Lead all team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality for our guests while championing excellence and maintaining a highly motivated, purpose driven culture.

  • Consistently offers positive and constructive feedback to drive a high-performing team dedicated to hospitality, excellence, and achievement of business goals.

  • Fosters a close partnership that includes- communication, collaboration, support, and sharing of best practices for well-informed decision making with the management team, ensuring flow and alignment on business goals.

  • Provides coaching and guidance to all team members.

  • Radiate a positive attitude, are friendly and takes pride in keeping our restaurant spotless and organized.

  • Passionate about serving high-quality, ethically prepared, delicious meals in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Must uphold health codes, standards of cleanliness, proper reporting of repair and maintenance of restaurant equipment.

  • Operates an open policy of “see something, say something.

  • Balance day-to-day operational and administrative responsibilities with excellence, using sound judgement to make decisions that are best for both the short term and long-term health of the business.

  • Works daily to exceed projected sales targets, increase profitability and reduce spoilage.

  • Must be able to perform essential functions of this job, which include possessing the physical endurance and dexterity to kneel, stoop, bend, reach, walk and stand for long periods of time in an often high-temperature, fast-paced restaurant environment.

  • Ability to lift in excess of 40 + pounds.

  • Must have open availability. (Including weekends and holidays)

  • Must be able to start to work early in the morning. (5:30am/6:00am)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required.

We've listed the expected hourly range for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors. In addition, we offer profit sharing after 90 days of employment!
