Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Perform accurate dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using CMMs.
• Analyze inspection data, generate comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to relevant departments.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Interpret complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements for precise measurement strategies.
• Select and design appropriate fixturing and probe configurations for effective part measurement.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CMM equipment and programs, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Solid knowledge of metrology principles and various measurement techniques.
• Proven experience with CMM operation and programming in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• GD&T certification (e.g., ASME GDTP).
• Proficiency in advanced CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) beyond just model import.
• Experience with additional metrology equipment (e.g., structured light scanners, vision systems).
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
