Lobb Law is a respected Michigan personal injury and disability law firm dedicated to helping individuals navigate life-changing legal challenges. We’re expanding our Social Security Disability practice and are seeking a skilled, compassionate Paralegal to join our team.

Position Overview

The Social Security Disability Paralegal will play a vital role in managing client cases from intake through hearing and appeal. This position requires deep familiarity with SSA procedures, attention to detail, and excellent client communication skills.

You’ll work closely with our attorneys to gather evidence, prepare filings, and support clients through every step of the SSDI/SSI process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and track Social Security Disability and SSI claims, appeals, and hearing requests
• Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and evidence
• Draft correspondence, pre-hearing briefs, and client summaries
• Communicate regularly with clients, SSA offices, and medical providers
• Manage case management software, track deadlines, and ensure file accuracy
• Provide hearing preparation support to attorneys

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience handling Social Security Disability or related administrative law cases
• Working knowledge of SSA procedures, Appeals Council, and ALJ hearings
• Proficiency with SSA’s Electronic Records Express (ERE) and Appointed Representative Services (ARS)
• Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to handle a high-volume caseload with professionalism and empathy
• Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience
