IATF Quality Engineer | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure IATF 16949 compliance and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
• Lead APQP activities and manage PPAP submissions for new product launches and engineering changes.
• Drive root cause analysis using 8D methodology and implement effective corrective/preventive actions for internal and external non-conformances.
• Conduct internal IATF audits and support customer or third-party certification audits.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans, FMEAs, and other quality-related process documentation.
• Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives using statistical tools.
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues, conduct supplier audits, and drive supplier development.

Recommended Qualifications

• Deep understanding and practical experience with IATF 16949 quality management systems.
• Proficiency in core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Demonstrated expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on product quality.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis of data, including process capability studies (Cp, Cpk).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for advanced data analysis and SPC.
• Certified Lead Auditor (e.g., IATF 16949 or ISO 9001) from a recognized body.
• Experience with advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe).
