Overview
We are a growing interventional cardiology practice seeking two experienced Medical Assistants to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced specialty setting and take pride in delivering compassionate, precise patient care. You will work closely with our esteemed cardiology providers and clinical team, playing a key role in both patient care and clinic efficiency while gaining exposure to advanced cardiovascular care.
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and advanced practice providers by preparing patients for visits, performing clinical tasks, coordinating care, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role also assists with select administrative functions to maintain seamless daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Greet and room patients; obtain vitals, weight, and histories
• Perform and document EKGs accurately
• Obtain manual blood pressure measurements
• Reconcile medications, allergies, and medical histories
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain infection control standards
• Notify providers of patient concerns or abnormal findings
• Assist with patient education and follow-up instructions
Care Coordination & Documentation
• Pre-chart visits and ensure test results and records are available
• Process prescription refills and prior authorizations
• Communicate normal test results per provider direction
• Assist with surgical clearance documentation
• Complete medical forms (FMLA, disability, etc.)
Operational Support
• Maintain clinic flow in collaboration with clinical team
• Answer patient calls and messages professionally
• Monitor and restock clinical supplies and samples
• Ensure equipment readiness (e.g., EKG machines)
• Support office administrative tasks on an as-needed basis
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic or hospital setting
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Certification preferred)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency performing EKGs and obtaining vitals
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications• 2 years of cardiology or related specialty practice experience
• Prior scribing experience

Compensation & BenefitsPay: $19.50 – $21.00 per hour (based on experience)
