Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts and assemblies.
• Verify compliance of parts to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (e.g., AS9102, PPAP).
• Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Document inspection results accurately, identifying non-conformances and deviations.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing process sheets.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection, with a focus on First Article Inspection (FAI) in a manufacturing environment.
• Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Proficient in the use of a wide range of precision measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
• Proven experience accurately completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), particularly AS9102 forms, and generating non-conformance reports.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant industry quality standards.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• ASQ Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector - CQI).
• Advanced understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software for model interpretation.
