Blueprint is a growing software company servicing the mortgage industry. We build software solutions to automate manual and tedious workflows to speed up the process of underwriting a mortgage loan.

We were founded in 2013 and have had double digit growth every year. We excel as a fully remote, distributed team.

Our clients are major banks, lenders, credit unions, brokers, and government agencies.

The Role

This role will involve the development of software solutions, testing, deploying, and maintaining the Blueprint software products. Software development is the heart of Blueprint and the software developer directly shapes the functionality and quality of the IncomeXpert product.

Software developers will participate in task and release planning with leadership. Goals and objectives will be decomposed into tasks and prioritized. Groups of tasks will be planned for releases. Software developers will be responsible for maintaining status of their tasks and communicating with other team members and stakeholders on the progress and challenges in completing the tasks.

Software developers will be responsible for developing modular, reusable, and extensible software solutions while balancing business needs. This can be a delicate balance between the optimal and the essential. We entrust our developers to make these decisions with support from others on the team.

No software is perfect and all software incurs technical debt over time. We look to our developers to actively identify and report concerns and observations as they arise. This allows us to plan and prioritize the reduction of technical debt over time.

This role will report directly to the Technical Director.

Specific Duties

• Participate in task planning, estimation, and prioritization

  • Decompose larger objectives into smaller tasks to manage size, scope, and complexity

  • Provide estimates of size, complexity, and effort for tasks

  • Evaluate tasks for security impact

• Implement software to meet requirements

• Maintain status, provide updates, and close out tasks in a timely manner

• Follow good coding practices

• Utilize a source control system for tracking versions, releases, and changes

• Software testing

  • Unit testing

  • Integration testing

• Execute DevOps activities for

  • Development and planning of releases

  • CI-CD pipeline development, pipeline management, and debugging

• Reporting out to managers on any identified issues or anomalies

• Maintaining company and client confidentiality

• Communicating with internal and external partners in a clear and professional manner

Required Skills / Capabilities

• . Net software development experience

• Docker container development

• DevOps pipeline development experience

• Git Version / source control experience

• Reliable home office environment. You may be on the phone or in web meetings and the ability to control your environment, background noise, etc is essential.

• Home internet connection

• Proficiency with Google Suite for word processing, spreadsheet, etc

Preferred Skills / Capabilities

• 2 or 4 year degree in technical field such as engineering or computer science or 2-4 years development experience.

• Prior SaaS product experience
