Staff technical program manager powertrain

Role Summary:In this position, you will be the lead for the powertrain components of our future Drive Unit programs, coordinating design maturity and part lead times to support pre-production builds and SOP launch activities. Our unit programs have high visibility and compressed timing, creating a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be at the forefront of EV drive unit development. You will work directly with the product development team, and coordinate with the drive unit TPM and supply chain to achieve our goals. This opening is at our Plymouth, MI facility and reports directly to our Sr Manager of Technical Integration for Drive Units and High Voltage Distribution.
Responsibilities:- Generating component-level timelines that align with the major milestones of the Drive Unit and vehicle timing plan
- Maintaining and managing all open issues to resolution
- Coordinating supplier sourcing activities to ensure all major program milestones are met
- Communicating program health and escalating risks as needed
- Support all development build events and ensure component readiness
- Lead cost-saving initiatives
- Maintaining project timelines and ensuring all major program milestones are achieved on time
- Ensuring program profitability and mass targets are met
- Coordinating tooling kick-off with vendors and ensuring timely delivery
- Supporting quote activity for new programs and engineering changes
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact program delivery
Qualifications:
- Preferred degree within mechanical/automotive engineering or business management.
- 5+ years of experience related to automotive design, release, and/or production.
- Proven technical program management expertise in delivering new technologies and products, and in managing teams in matrix organizations and suppliers/customers across multiple locations.
- Prior experience in prototype/pre-production builds with high rate of change management.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other common program management software’s.
- Understanding of Electric Powertrain Platforms.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively among cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in fast-paced environment.
- Dynamic attitude with desire to learn and expand your knowledge and capability.
