Step into a day on our automation floor
You arrive to a humming cell and bring it to peak performance. You verify paths on a Nachi or Yaskawa Motoman arm, confirm part pick/place alignment to the CNC chuck, and run a short test cycle on the welding fixture. A small offset tweak, a sensor calibration, and production is ready to roll.
What you will do- Install, program, and fine‑tune machine‑tending robots so parts load/unload precisely into CNC machines and robotic welding equipment.
- Continuously monitor automation performance and make adjustments to improve reliability, throughput, and part quality.
- Troubleshoot robots, controllers, I/O, and peripheral equipment to minimize downtime.
- Set up, calibrate, and test robotic arms, end‑of‑arm tooling, and sensors.
- Perform regular preventive and predictive maintenance on robotic and control systems.
- Use metrology tools (calipers, gauges) to verify processes; document and report any process variation or quality concern.
- Interpret technical drawings and follow established procedures with precision.
- Train and assist teammates, fostering a collaborative, safety‑first culture.
- Maintain housekeeping and follow environmental guidelines; always wear appropriate PPE.
NACHI, Yaskawa Motoman, FANUC, and OTC Daihen robots; CNC machine interfaces; welding cells; assembly fixtures; CAD/CAM; MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What you bring- 3+ years working hands‑on with robotic systems such as FANUC, OTC Daihen, Nachi, and Yaskawa Motoman.
- Proficiency programming multi‑axis material‑handling and tending applications.
- Strong troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Experience with CAD/CAM; knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication; detail orientation; able to work independently and in teams.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and call‑ins when needed.
- Technical diploma or associate degree in robotics or automation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and check sheets.
- Time management and a sense of urgency; able to navigate unexpected challenges and drive rapid solutions.
- Firm understanding of safety procedures and regulations, including MIOSHA and other governmental standards; comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
- Sitting, squatting, walking, and bending for 8–10 hours per day.
- Lift 50 lbs. or more as needed.
- Work in varying weather conditions; exposure to a production environment.
- CNC machining, robotic welding, and assembly shop environments.
- Standard and special‑purpose equipment including automation, CNC machines, welding robots, assembly fixtures, and tools.
- Automated production cells are a frequent setting.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment in all production areas.
- Follow company safety protocols and MIOSHA regulations at all times.
