Role Summary:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist with strong vascular imaging experience to join their high-performing imaging team. In this critical role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging that supports accurate diagnosis and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including general and vascular studies, according to physician orders and imaging protocols.
Set up, adjust, and operate ultrasound equipment; manually maneuver transducers to capture appropriate images.
Recognize and evaluate significant anatomical structures, pathology, artifacts, and equipment limitations.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, explaining exams clearly and compassionately.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked work environment, including ultrasound rooms and storage areas.
Follow strict adherence to safety standards, infection control, and regulatory agency guidelines.
Conduct and document daily equipment quality control and report any malfunctions promptly; initiate lock/tag out procedures when necessary.
Submit accurate, high-quality images and patient documentation into PACS with proper lead markers and data verification.
Collaborate with physicians and the clinical team to assist in complex imaging cases.
Support department operations and ensure compliance with all internal and external standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with 2 years of ultrasound experience, or
Associate's or Technical degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required within 6 months of hire
BLS Provider certification (from AHA or Red Cross) — required within 30 days of hire
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS
Vascular Certification (RVT or equivalent) through ARDMS or CCI
General and vascular ultrasound experience is required
Strong attention to detail, image quality, and patient safety
Experience with GE ultrasound systems and Cerner EMR is highly desirable
Location and Work Type:
On-site position based in Michigan.
This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
