Position Summary
The Weld Technician is responsible for inspection, installation and repair of machines used for production and within the tool room and maintenance machining areas. In addition, build and re-build equipment for various manufacturing needs.
Position Responsibilities- Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
- Follow specified maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools
- Utilize Plex to document appropriate downtime codes
- Troubleshoot, isolate and repair manufacturing machinery & equipment
- Basic troubleshooting of both welding equipment and systems
- Basic knowledge/troubleshooting of lubrication processes (correct type, function, when to use, etc)
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling, and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product quality
- Basic knowledge of welding applications (MIG, Spot, Stud, etc.)
- Complete and manage work orders via the Plex systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and provide input on updates to preventative maintenance schedules (with guidance from a Weld Maintenance Mechanic level II or level III)
- Basic level robotic experience (robot movements, navigate/troubleshoot common basic level issues utilizing the teach pendant
- Basic level knowledge of lubrication processes (functionality, correct type, when to use)
- Ability to use common hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, feeler gages, etc)
- Minimum of two (2) years of Machine Repair experience
- Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics experience
- Basic understanding of relevant Robotic controls and processes
