Southpointe Veterinary Hospital is one of Veterinary United's busiest, high-performing practices and we're looking for a highly skilled Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, medicine-forward environment.
This is not an entry-level role. We're seeking an experienced assistant who is confident in technical skills such as blood draws, IV catheter placement, surgical support, and surgery prep, etc. If you love being hands-on and take pride in strong technical execution, we want to meet you.

Your Role as a Veterinary Assistant
We're looking for someone who can contribute immediately with strong technical ability and professionalism.
Deliver Advanced Clinical Support
- Perform confident, efficient blood draws
- Place IV catheters independently
- Assist in surgery including prep
- Administer vaccines and treatments as directed
Support a High-Volume Medical Team
- Assist with walk-in and urgent cases
- Maintain efficiency without compromising compassion
- Help keep appointments flowing smoothly
Provide Exceptional Patient & Client Care
- Comfort pets and educate clients
- Maintain a calm, professional presence in high-energy situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior veterinary assistant experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- IV catheter placement
- Venipuncture / blood draws
- Surgical prep
- Vaccine administration
- And more!
We are looking for a confident, capable assistant who requires minimal training in these areas.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable restraining animals safely
- Stamina to remain on your feet in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure
